1 Samuel 19:17
Saul said to Michal, “Why did you deceive me like this and send my enemy away so that he escaped?” Michal told him, “He said to me, ‘Let me get away. Why should I kill you?’ ”
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, June 21, ESCAPED (I Sam. 19:20). David was such a good example for the spirit of Mennonite. He was a peace lover. He didn’t like violence. He was the anointed king. He was a warrior. He won many wars. He fought many enemies. He had no wrong to Saul. But, he loved peace. Therefore, he escaped.
a. He left the palace.
He left his former job as a lyre player and singer.
b. He left the house.
He left the house where he lived with his wife, Michal.
c. He left the pride.
He had to escape and run like a looser. He didn’t attack Saul. He didn’t fight back. He run through the window. What a sacrifice. What a peace lover. What a Mennonite. A$H.
