1 Chronicles 21:16
David looked up and saw the angel of the Lord standing between heaven and earth, with a drawn sword in his hand extended over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell facedown.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Oct.3, FACEDOWN (I Chron. 21:16). How many times do we realize that we have done so many mistakes in our life? Everybody can do mistakes. Unfortunately, not many people realize humbly that those are mistakes. David made mistakes too. Horrible ones. He asked his general to count his troops. What were his mistakes?
1. No command of God.
God didn’t ask him to do that. There was no command of God to count his troops.

2. No communication to God.
He didn’t ask God in prayer before he did it. He actually had to come to God and ask whether the plan was ok or not. He should have consulted God first before he did it.

3. No contribution for God.
What was the benefit for God by counting the troops? God didn’t need numbers. God didn’t depend on numbers. God was not amazed by numbers. So, in everything, we have to consult, communicate and coordinate with God. ASH.
