1 Samuel 24:8
Then David went out of the cave and called out to Saul, “My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.

1 Samuel 24:9
He said to Saul, “Why do you listen when men say, ‘David is bent on harming you’?

1 Samuel 24:14
“Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Who are you pursuing? A dead dog? A flea?

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, June 26, FLEA (I Sam. 24:8, 9, 14). David humiliated and denied himself as low as possible. He was really not humbled himself, but he insulted himself. Notice what he had done to Saul in this chapter
a. He prostrated.
He was not only bowing down. He bowed down and prostrated until his face touched the ground. It was really amazing, wasn’t it?

b. He called himself with name directly.
He as the chosen and anointed king didn’t use any titles. He didn’t call himself as king David, master David, even mister David.

c. He considered himself as a flea.
He considered himself not as a king, but as an animal, a flea. Even, a dead animal, a dead dog. What a super humble act, we could see in the life of David. He who humbles himself, would be exalted by God. ASH.
