Psalms 88:17
All day long they surround me like a flood; they have completely engulfed me.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Apr. 28, FLOOD (Ps. 88:17). Men couldn’t live without problems. Every man has his own problems. No man is excepted from problems. Even, the children of God too. Following and believing God doesn’t mean free from problems. The chosen people still have to face troubles. Including David. His problems were like a flood.
1. Much.
Flood means much, uncountable. It surrounds perfectly. Not only few or several, but much. No free space. No time for David not to see troubles. Wherever he went, the troubles followed him.

2. Powerful.
Flood is powerful. It could destroy, pull, attack, even kill many people. It sweeps a large area with great power. Especially, tsunami. It could kill hundreds of thousands people in minutes.

3. Close.
Flood means close too. It is very dense, close. The life of David was covered by problems. If David didn’t cling to God, he would be drowned in his problems. He would be despair. He would be leaving God and become an atheist. ASH.
