1 Chronicles 15:1
After David had constructed buildings for himself in the City of David, he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Sept. 27, FOREVER (I Chron. 15:1). God is an everlasting God. He does something not only tenporarily, but also eternally. It is based on his character, that he loves men eternally. In this case, he chose The Levites to serve him in the temple forever. It means
1. Forever in time.
Not only at the time of Moses, David or in the Old Testament, but also until today and forever.
2. Forever in tribe.
God had chosen The Levites as the ministers in the temple. It couldn’t be changed. It must be from The Levites. If the father died, then his son would continue it. If the son died, then his son again would continue it and so on.
3. Forever in tests.
As The Levites, they were also tested in the same troubles and temptations. Whether some of them failed in tests, the rests still continued the ministry. They were demanded to be perfectly holy, faithful and obedient. God had chosen us to be his sons. Praise The Lord. ASH.
