1 Samuel 17:4
A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. His height was six cubits and a span.

1 Samuel 17:7
His spear shaft was like a weaver’s rod, and its iron point weighed six hundred shekels. His shield bearer went ahead of him.

1 Samuel 17:9
If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become our subjects and serve us.”

1 Samuel 17:33
Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, June 19, GOLIATH (I Sam. 17:4, 7, 9, 33). We have known very well this magnificent story about Goliath. It can teach us many lessons. It is still very amazing from time to time. Today, we can learn from his strength
a. Big size.
He was so tall. Of course, taller than Saul and all The Israelites.

b. Big weapons.
He had many weapons. The weight was very heavy. But he could carry all of those weapons easily.

c. Big mouth.
He challenged The Israelites to come into battle. He cursed God everyday. He insulted everybody.

d. Big stake.
He dared to say that if he lose, the whole nation would surrender to The Israelite. He believed he would win. Therefore, he put the whole nation on stake.

e. Big victories.
He had fought in many battles. He had many victories. He had defeated many enemies.

But all of these strength brought nothing good for Goliath, for he could be defeated so easily by a young man in 1 strike of the sling, David. Therefore, always depend on God. ASH.
