Psalms 53:3
Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Mar. 24, GOOD (Ps. 53:3). Good is not as simple as we think. If we think being good is easy, then, we have to rethink. It is not good according to human standard.
1. Complete good.
Good here contains everything good. It is not standing alone. It is all. It has all. It contains all. It is closely connected to all. It is holy. It is kind. It is faithful. It is honest. Etc.
2. Compared good.
The goodness is compared to himself. It is not compared to other people on earth. The object of comparison is only 1, Jesus. The focus and direction is clear, Jesus. Everything is Jesus. No one can replace that. No one is worthy to replace Jesus.
3. Checked good.
It is not evaluated by men. It is checked by God himself. God sees the goodness in us. He values the goodness that we’ve done. He weights whether it is really good or not. God doesn’t ask somebody else to value the goodness. Accordung to his result, no one is good and doing good. ASH.
