1 Samuel 26:7
So David and Abishai went to the army by night, and there was Saul, lying asleep inside the camp with his spear stuck in the ground near his head. Abner and the soldiers were lying around him.
1 Samuel 26:8
Abishai said to David, “Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of the spear; I won’t strike him twice.”
1 Samuel 26:11
But the Lord forbid that I should lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed. Now get the spear and water jug that are near his head, and let’s go.”
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, June 28, GREAT WARRIOR (I Sam. 26:7, 8, 11). David was and had great warriors. They were really great in battles. Notice here, how good they went into Saul’s camp unnoticed.
a. They came so close.
They could pass Saul’s 3000 army unnoticed. They could pass them until they were so close to Saul, beside his head.
b. They talked to each other.
Beside his head and the head of Saul’s bodyguards, David was debating with Abishai, whether they would kill Saul or not.
c. They took Saul’s spear.
Finally, they just took Saul’s spear, his water jug and left the camp unnoticed again. Until, there were enough distance between them, David stated to speak with Saul from afar. How could they were so great? Because of God made them great. May The Lord also make us great in battle against our problems in life. ASH.
