Matthew 23:25
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Aug. 20, GREED (Mt. 23:25). Greed can show its face by many shapes. It is not only about food. It is also about money, possessions, positions, and so forth. 1 thing that I want to focus is that the greed over respect. We just never be satisfied to be respected. We just want to be more and more respected. Day by day, our ego getting higher and higher. We can act as if we are spiritual people. We can join many ministries. We can use spiritual outfits. We have spiritual degrees. We change our names into spiritual names and so forth. But inside, honestly speaking, we are just getting dirtier than before. Why? Because we get more arrogance. Our pride is so high and can’t be touched. Once it is touched, anger and rage show its face. Do we realize that it is a serious sin? Do we realize that it actually is the first thing that has to be cleaned? Failing to clean it is the same as we have done nothing. We move nowhere. We don’t grow even a bit in our spiritual. Let’s start cleaning till ot is really clean our heart from this sin. (ASH)
