2 Kings 10:19
Now summon all the prophets of Baal, all his servants and all his priests. See that no one is missing, because I am going to hold a great sacrifice for Baal. Anyone who fails to come will no longer live.” But Jehu was acting deceptively in order to destroy the servants of Baal.

2 Kings 10:26
They brought the sacred stone out of the temple of Baal and burned it.

2 Kings 10:29
However, he did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit—the worship of the golden calves at Bethel and Dan.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, Aug. 28, HALF (II Kg. 10:19, 26, 29). It’s good to do something. It’s much better than only saying many things, but doing nothing. But the doing must be carried through the end. Never doing anything only to the half. Jehu was good.
1. He executed the leaders.
All the Baal leaders, the prophets, the priests and all the servants were executed. No more Baal leaders again.

2. He destroyed The Baal statutes.
He brought out all the Baal statues and destroyed it.

3. He destroyed the temple of Baal.
Not only the leaders and the statutes, but also the place of worshipping. He didn’t leave anything behind things which were connected to Baal. That was good. The problem was, he didn’t do the same to the calves. He left the 2 golden calves alone. He perhaps considered the calves very valuable. He caused the people still had connection with the calves or “Baal.” The real Baal was destroyed, but the other “Baal,” was kept. If we really want to clean the sinful things, we have to clean them all completely. Don’t do anything half way. Don’t leave behind any sin. ASH.
