2 Samuel 10:3
The Ammonite commanders said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think David is honoring your father by sending envoys to you to express sympathy? Hasn’t David sent them to you only to explore the city and spy it out and overthrow it?”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, July 12, HANUN (II Sam. 10:3). Hanun was the successor of Nahash, his father, the Ammonite king. He was so young, inexperienced and foolish.
a. He didn’t want to learn by himself.
If he was a wise man, he could read and find out by himslef from the history, who was David. He might also could ask to his father, while his father was still alive, important info. Such as the biggest enemy, the best ally, the real friend, etc.

b. He didn’t want to double check the info.
After his army commanders told him bad things about David, he believed right away.

c. He didn’t want to send spies.
Actually, before fighting, he had to send spies to know the stregth of David. Because of his stupidity, everybody sufferred. May The Lord grants us wisdom to do wisely in every action.
