Psalms 60:7
Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah is my scepter.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Mar. 31, HELMET (Ps. 60:7). Does God needs a helmet? Does God needs a sceptre? Does God needs things outside of him? The answer is no. Once again, no. God doesn’t need anything. God is self sufficient. He is much better than anything else. He is much better doing by himself without help from outside of him.
1. Mine.
God has no worry to acknowledge, own, love the weakest, unpopular, unknown tribe. He acknowledge that Gilead is his. God doesn’t ashame to acknowledge that those tribes are belong to him.

2. Close.
They are not only belong to him. But, God wants to be close to them at all times. God feels comfortable and happy to be close to them. God enjoys being close to the shameful tribes like them. God can choose super power nation like Egypt, Persia, Assyrian, etc.

3. Used.
God also use them for his purpose. God can use them as protection, helmet. God can use them as weapons, sceptre. God can use them, although he can do things better without them. Of course, God can equip them to accomplish his purpose. ASH.
