Deuteronomy 31:27
For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you have been rebellious against the Lord while I am still alive and with you, how much more will you rebel after I die!
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Apr. 11, HOW MUCH MORE? (Deut. 31:27). The Israelites was really not a good example for our life. But yet, on the other hand, they were a good example for the love of God. The were rebellious:
a. Beyond time.
Passing generations, they keep rebellious. Even, the new generations would be sinning even greater.
b. Beyond punishments.
They were gravely punished for their sins. They were not freed from punishments. They were not punished lightly. But still they sinned greatly.
c. Beyond leaders.
Whether Moses was around or not, they sinned. Remember one of the incidents, when Moses left them for a while. He went up to the mountain. The people fell in a grave sin, worshipping the gold calf. Aaron could.not stop them. Moses could not imagine, how much more they would sin after he died. What about us? Shall we become good whether there is a person or not? ASH.
