Leviticus 20:17
“ If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They are to be publicly removed from their people. He has dishonored his sister and will be held responsible.”
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Wed, Jan. 27, INCEST (Lev. 20:17). The law of incest has just given in this verse. It didn’t appear before this verse. Thus, we can’t say that it is ok to marry with the sister and brother. Before, incest was fine. Therefore, no problem if the sons of Adam married with their sisters. There were no other people at the time. There was no restrictions and prohibitions too. But then, it was not fine anymore. It was forbidden ever since.
a. The law can’t be changed.
It is applied to all human beings ever since. No change and revision. So, incest is forbidden. No exception. No question asked. No hesitation. No possibily to be changed. Nobody may overrule.
b. The law can’t be compromised.
It can’t be compromised with marriage properly. Although, the couple marries properly, legally and formally, still incest is not ok. Although, the couple try to make it right by marrying in the church, before all the community and so forth, still not ok
c. The law can’t be cured.
It is not about health. It has no connection with the health of the babies. The issue is not about the health. The issue is about the prohibition. God forbids it. Period. So, never does it. Don’t do it. Period. ASH.
