Ezra 10:2
Then Shekaniah son of Jehiel, one of the descendants of Elam, said to Ezra, “We have been unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women from the peoples around us. But in spite of this, there is still hope for Israel.

Ezra 10:19
(They all gave their hands in pledge to put away their wives, and for their guilt they each presented a ram from the flock as a guilt offering.)

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Nov. 26, INTERMARRIAGE (Ezr. 10:2, 19). Intermarriage is marrying foreign women. That was considered a serious sin. It was not a simple sin. It was very serious that demand repentance. The repentance contains:
1. Confession.
They confessed that it was a sin, not a mistake. They cried and remorsed. They agreed to say that it was hurting God.

2. Self humiliation.
They abased and humiliated themselves. They threw themselves down in ashes. They mourned.

3. Cutting the relation.
They moved forward by putting away their wives. The relation had never been blessed and agreed by God. Therefore, never marry with the unbelievers. Always ask God to bless the marriage. ASH.
