2 Kings 23:25
Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Sept. 10, JOSIAH (II Kg. 23:25). Solomon was known as the wisest man for all ages. Nobody was wiser than him before and after him. But Josiah had another degree. He was known as the most devout person. Nobody loved God more than him, before and after him. Why?
1. Turned to the Lord.
He turned to the Lord wholeheartedly, with all of his heart, soul and strength. He didn’t play with God. He was so serious with God. He gave all of his heart to God.
2. Tore all the other gods down.
He tore all the other gods down from all the high places. He also tore down the high places and everything, the poles, the altars, the shrines, everything.
3. Threw all the holy priests away.
He slaughtered them. He threw them away. He burned them and buried them with other bones to desecrate them. He put away everything which were connected with the Baal. Nothing was left behind. We can imitate Josiah in loving God. ASH.
