1 Kings 1:45
And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king at Gihon. From there they have gone up cheering, and the city resounds with it. That’s the noise you hear.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Wed, July 28, KING (I Kg. 1:45). Solomon was made king formally and legally.
a. The 3 bodies agreed.
The prophet, Nathan, the priest, Zadok and the former king, David, agreed to make Solomon the next king after David. This was not the same as Adonijah, whom only a priest, Abiathar and the army general, Joab, agreed with his ordination.

b. The 3 family members agreed.
The father, David, the mother, Bathsyeba and all of his brothers agreed. No brothers gave him protests. Nobody said contrary to what the father had said. In Adonijah’s case, of course the father and his brother, Solomon didn’t agree.

c. The 3 parties agreed.
The people, the king and the army, Benaiah, agreed. Benaiah was the head of David’s bodyguards. They agreed to support Solomon. So, the position was very strong. So Solomon became king over the whole Israel. God blessed and be with him. May God also blesses us always. ASH.
