Genesis 49:33
When Jacob had finished giving instructions to his sons, he drew his feet up into the bed, breathed his last and was gathered to his people.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Nov. 27, LAST BREATH (Gen. 49:33). Jacob breathed his last after doing many great things.
a. Last blessings.
He gave blessings to all his children one by one. The blessings seemed unfair, unplausible and unneeded. But, overall, they were blessings, not only good speeches.

b. Last sermon.
He told them, in the end, husband and wife still have to united. Abraham and Sarah. Isaac and Rebecah. Me and Leah. Where was Rachel buried? Beside of the street to Ephrata, that was Bethlehem (Gen. 35:19). Afterall, 1 man could only be united with 1 woman. Afterall, Jacob was not all bad.

c. Last wish.
He wanted to be buried together with the people. No matter, how far they had been going, still they wanted to be buried in 1 tomb. Simple but inspiring. He didn’t ask the children to move the Rachel’s bone. He didn’t ask that all his wealth would be buried together with him. He didn’t ask ridiculous things. He just asked to be buried properly. May our last minutes still giving others inspirations. Afterall, every minute in our life is the last minute, isn’t it? ASH.
