Then even the bravest soldier, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will melt with fear, for all Israel knows that your father is a fighter and that those with him are brave.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, July 20, LION (II Sam. 17:10). Lion is the symbol of bravery, strength and power. No wonder it is called the king of the jungle. People are afraid only by seeing it, not even seeing its teeth or hearing its roar.
1. Lion the animal.
God created lions magnificently. The size, the muscle, the shape, the color, everything is perfect. Other animals and even people would run if they meet with it.
2. Lion the name.
Jesus is called the lion of Judah. He is the king not only over animals, but on everything, everybody and every living being. Not only on earth, but also in underworld and in heaven. Not only in the past time, but also now and forever.
3. Lion the heart.
Absalom’s soldiers were called having the heart of the lion. They were very brave. Brave over animals and men.
4. Lion the slayer.
David had a degree as a lion slayer. He since he was young, he had killed lions and other big wild animals, such as bears. He had no problems with sizes, voices, weapons, muscles, etc. Even, Goliath was killed easily. He run toward Goliath, killed and beheaded him by himself. All of those not because of David. But because of God whom was always with him. God whom had helped David can also help and strengthen us. ASH.
