Numbers 15:32
While the Israelites were in the wilderness, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day.

Numbers 15:35
Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp.”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Feb. 18, LITTLE SIN (Num. 15:32, 35). Many times sin looks very simple, little or small. Just like the sin of this man. What was his sin? His sin was gathering wood on Sabbath day. How many times? Only once. How many woods? Only 1 wood. Because the word is singular. That’s it. But the punishment was so severe, stoning to death by the whole community. Why?
a. God doesn’t want his law is broken.
Sabbath is for worshipping and doing things connected to God. Not doing other things. Let the heart, mind and energy focused to God.

b. God doesn’t want a man to stack sins become bigger and bigger.
A little sin ignored may become a big sin. If he doesn’t realize that it is a serious sin, then, he will repeat and do it again next time.

c. God doesn’t want to man to hurt God’s heart.
God is sovereign. He doesn’t want his creation dares to hurt his heart. So, don’t play with sins. Don’t stack sins. Don’t hide sins. ASH.
