Ezra 5:11
This is the answer they gave us: “We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, one that a great king of Israel built and finished.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Nov. 21, LOCATION (Ezr. 5:11). The Israelites could rebuild the temple in the new place. They had many choices to rebuild the temple in anywhere. But they built it exactly at the same place in which their ancestors had built. Why?
1. History.
The value of tradition in the history was so high. They valued it highly. They didn’t want to forget history. In history, they could see and feel the blessings and mercies of God.

2. Consistency.
They were the people of consistency. They didn’t like to change things. They liked consistency, persistency.

3. Sacredity.
In that place, God had shown himself. God came and covered the temple with his glory. Therefore, they honored the place greatly. Here, we can see their homage to the location of the temple, not only to the temple per se. ASH.
