2 Chronicles 16:12
In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the Lord, but only from the physicians.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Wed, Oct. 27, LORD (II Chron. 16:12). This is the irony of a believer, at the beginning, he believed God. But at the end, he left God. At the beginning, he looked good, but at the beginning, he was bad. It was because, he left God. He called God Lord, but he didn’t treat God as Lord.
a. Angry toward God.
He was angry, because his own stupidity. He didn’t rely on God. He left God. He seeked help from the king of Aram Ben Hadad.
b. Angry toward his mesengers.
He put the messenger of God, Hanani into prison for delivering the message that he received from God. He just didn’t like the message in which he called him doing a foolish thing and war would be many in his time.
c. Angry toward everybody.
He became a very sensitive person. He put many people into prison. Therefore, always put God as God. ASH.
