Habakkuk 1:12
Lord, are you not from everlasting? My God, my Holy One, you will never die. You, Lord, have appointed them to execute judgment; you, my Rock, have ordained them to punish.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, Aug 8, LORD (Hab. 1:12). I can feel a little bit the feeling of Habakkuk at that time, when he shouted loudly in prayer saying, “Lord.” I know his heart must be crushed at that time. He felt a great suffering because of the evil of Babel. But, in the midst of suffering, he didn’t disappointed toward God.
a. He still pray.
Many times, people in the disappointment mode don’t pray anymore.
b. He still honored The Lord as The Lord.
He didn’t change the plave, authority and honor of God. In the disappointment, people tend to dishonor and consider God as impotent and powerless.
c. He still live in holiness.
He knew that God can’t tolerate evil. He as a prophet couldn’t live in sin just as the people. He himself uphold the holiness in his personal life. Let’s be faithful to God like Habakkuk although the condition and situation seems so difficult and everlasting. -ash
