1 Samuel 31:4
Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me.” But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, July 3, LOST (I Sam. 31:4). Saul had so many extraordinary blessings in life. The most handsome, the tallest man, wealthy family, etc. But he also lost many things in life. The very precious thing in life.
a. He lost the pleasing of God.
He sinned and God refused him as king. He lost his kingdom. He lost his throne. He lost his authority. He lost his position. He lost God. He didn’t repent and asked forgiveness. And this is the beginning of all the dooms in his life.

b. He lost the best ally.
When he wanted to kill David continuously, he lost his best ally, support, soldier. David was the one who killed Goliath and ten of thousands Philistines. David was the assurance for the peace in his kingdom. David was the one who played music and exorcised the evil spirit in him. David was his son in law. David was his son’s best friend.

c. He lost in war.
Without David on his side, he lost easily. The enemy defeated him easily. His 3 sons died in war. He himself had been wounded.

d. He lost his life.
Finally and eventually, he lost his life by suicide. He was wounded critically. He felt that his life wouldn’t be long. He asked his armor bearer to kill him, but the armor bearer refused. So, he fell on his own sword. Once a person lost God, he lost everything. ASH.
