Joshua 19:7
Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan—four towns and their villages—

Joshua 19:30
Ummah, Aphek and Rehob. There were twenty-two towns and their villages.

Shalom.sdr, my devotion today, Mon, May 3, LOT (Jos. 19:7, 30). The Israelites often using lot to determine things. In this case, they used lot to determine areas of living. They used lot to divide the lands. And if we notice, there were many differences. The location was different. Some got the hill areas. Some got the river areas. Etc. The number of towns were different. One got 4 towns, the other got 19 towns and the other got 22 towns. They had to honor the decision. No exchange. No complain. No comparison. No envy. Why?
a. Because they were brothers.
They were blood brothers. They were the descendants from the same ancestors. They were real brothers and sisters from exactly the same origin.

b. Because they were believers.
Besides brothers, they were believers of the same God. They suppose to believe the justice of God. They had to believe the perseverance of God. So no need of envy, angry and protest.

c. Because they were blessed.
They suppose not to see the number of towns, lands and locations. They suppose not to see the lands fertility, size and heading. They suppose to see above. They had the omnipotence God. They had to believe that God would bless and preserve them perfectly. So there was no need of feud between them. The same as us today. If we believe that God would preserve us, we don’t need to be envy. ASH.
