Genesis 41:51
Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Nov. 19, MANASSEH (Gen. 41:51). Manasseh was the name of the son of Joseph. Manasseh was also the name of the son of Hezekiah. Both names have the same meaning, that is forget. But 1 is to forget in good sense and the other one, to forget in bad sense. 1 is to forget the 13 years of suffering and the other one, is to forget all the things that his father had done, such as demolishing all the Baal worships and statues. How did God make Joseph forget:
a. By making him ruler of Egypt.
From a slave to be a ruler. In 1 night. In 1 dream interpretation. In 1 Pharaoh’s decree. Everything was so quick. God can do that, if he wants us to experience.

b. By giving him a wife.
Why did Pharaoh not giving him many wives? Why did Pharaoh give him the daughter of a priest? Because, this wife was so powerful controlling Joseph not to rebel against Egypt

c. By giving him children.
He got 2 children from his wife. The children made him happy. He forgot all bad things which he had experienced before. God can do that to Joseph. God can do that too to us today. Just obey and follow God. His plan is always beautiful. ASH.
