Psalms 74:22
Rise up, O God, and defend your cause; remember how fools mock you all day long.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Apr. 14, MOCK (Ps. 74:22). Mocking is insulting. It is very humiliating. Nobody wants or likes to be mocked. Nobody is happy being mocked. Especially, mocked in public. Especially, mocked everyday. But God is mocked everyday by sinners like human beings. Mocked for no reasons. Mocked with no proofs. Mocked without shame.
1. Patient.
It shows how patient God treats the human beings. He is slow to anger. Very very slow to anger. He deals the mocking with patience. He doesn’t responf with anger. He is not angry. Well, he is hurt, but he is not angry.
2. Passion.
It shows how loving God toward the human beings. He knows how limited, small and weak we are. He doesn’t have to do anything, we would die and disappear soon in no time. The nature would defeat us. Death would come to us. Time would consume us. He doesn’t need to do anything.
3. Prudence.
God is unlike men, deals with any mocking with emotion. Men prioritize and promote violence. Men put anger in front of almost everything. They angry first, then thinking. They try to solve many things with anger first, rather than with reason. God is different from human beings. God is God. ASH.
