Numbers 6:2
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If a man or woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of dedication to the Lord as a Nazirite,

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, Feb. 9, NAZIRITE (Num. 6:2). Making a nazirite vow is not only about words. He isn’t merely saying words, then, he has become a nazirite. This is not only about commitments. If he wants to make a nazirite vow, there are certain rules that he has to accomplish.
a. He has to abstain himself from wine and its production.
He should not drink wine and any wine production. Grape juice, vinegar from wine, grape seed, grape skin, etc.

b. He must not shaved his head off (v 3).
He has to let the hair grow long. He can’t cut the hair, even a little bit.

c. He must not come close to the dead bodies (v 6).
Not even his parents and relatives. He can’t come close to them. If someone suddenly died in his presence, he must present a sacrifice, a sin offering to God.

d. He must present his sacrifice (v 14).
After the nazirite vow finished, he has to present his offering to God. A certain type of lamb and ewe. So, it is not a nazirite vow if only saying something. There are rules and codes to be fulfilled. Let’s just keep our promises and be careful with commitments. ASH.
