Jonah 3:3
Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go through it.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Wed, Aug 5, OBEY (Jonah 3:3). Obedience is a must in the relationship with God. It is mandatory. It is not a choice. It is demanded and obligatory for the believers. The problem is that many believers obey after punishment. After difficulties. After being hit by God. Why later? Why not now? Jonah was the same. He was commanded to go to Niniveh. He refused. He ran away. He rebelled. But after experiencing almost death event, he obeyed God. Why did he have to be like that? Why many people also are like that? Why not humble enough to obey as soon as possible? Why so stubborn? Why so ignorant? Let’s learn from the experience of Jonah. Or perhaps, from our own experience. That we will never win over in this case. We can never defeafed God and make him change his will. We have to obey. Period. So let’s obey him. As soon as possible. Obey without force. Obey without punishment. Obey without postpone. -ash
