Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, August 5, PAID IN FULL (I Kg. 5:11, 12, 9:11). At first, I thought that The King of Tyre, Hiram was paid only with abundant of food, wheat, olive oil. I thought it was the barter for the woods and golds. But actually not. Solomon gave other things. Solomon gave:
1. Abundant food supply.
Solomon provided Hiram with enough food year after year. The whole kingdom and especially the workers could focus on the work on building the temple of God and the palace for Solomon.
2. A peaceful relationship.
Solomon continued the peaceful relationship which had been so well since the time of his father, David.
3. Affluent cities.
Solomon gave affluent and flourishing cities around Galilee. Those were the best cities. The cities were alive. The fish from Galilee were well known and plenty. In that way, Solomon didn’t take it for granted. He gave more than what he received. That should be done by the children of God. Never take it for granted. Everything had its price. We have to pay in full in everything. ASH.
