2 Samuel 4:7
They had gone into the house while he was lying on the bed in his bedroom. After they stabbed and killed him, they cut off his head. Taking it with them, they traveled all night by way of the Arabah.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Wed, July 7, PITY (II Sam. 4:7). The story of the life of Saul ans his children was so pitiful. The beginning was awesome. But the end was pitiful. Notice, the end story of Saul and his children.
a. They all died ubnormally.
Saul and his 3 children, Jonathan, Abinadab and Malkishua were died in war with The Philistine. To be more exact, Saul wounded severely and took a suicide. His 3 children were killed in war at the same day. Hence, Ishbosheth was also killed while he was asleep in his own home on his own bed.

b. They were beheaded.
They all were beheaded. Saul and his 3 children were beheaded by The Philistine. Ishbosheth was killed by 2 brothers whom were the leader of raiding bands, Rekab and Baanah.

c. The news of their death were brought to David to get rewards.
A young Amalekites said that he was the one whom killed Saul and his 3 children. Rekab and Baanah said to David, that they killed Ishbosheth. Really, a pitiful end for the first and great king of Israel. May The Lord help us to have a good end. ASH.
