2 Kings 4:16
“About this time next year,” Elisha said, “you will hold a son in your arms.” “No, my lord!” she objected. “Please, man of God, don’t mislead your servant!”
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Aug. 22, POSSIBLE (II Kg. 4:16). Everything is possible for God. Nothing is impossible for God. Nothing is too difficult for him. He doesn’t depend on anything to make something happens. He doesn’t depend on:
1. The help of man.
God can do so much better without man’s help. He can speak directly to everybody. No difficulties for him to make people understand what he meant. Whether they believe it or not, still they understand. In this case, the woman understood clearly that she would have a son next year.
2. The physical condition of man.
Whether this woman was barren or not. No problem for God to make her pregnant or give her a son. Even without a man or not, God still can give babies to women if needed. So although her husband was old or unable to make her pregnant, God still could do miracles.
3. The faith of man.
This is the most important thing man always say, that man needs faith to see miracles happens. In this case, she didn’t believe what Elisha said. She said it clearly. She said it openly, not in her heart. She didn’t believe that she would have a son next year. But that what happened. So, let God shows what his will and plan. ASH.
