Psalms 113:1
Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, you his servants; praise the name of the LORD.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, May 23, PRAISE (Ps. 113:1). It’s already known that David liked to praise God. He liked to sing and exalt God. But, when he wrote about praising God 3 times in 1 verse, it means something else. It is not coincident, is it? It must have a specific meaning.
1. Emphasis.
David exaggerated and exalted God. David was very serious. He wanted to take time to emphasize his belief and passion. He wanted everybody to know about it clearly.

2. Proclamation.
He proclaimed boldly and publicly so everybody and every nation would know that David liked to praise God. He didn’t ashame with his passion. Perhaps, many men would be ashamed if the other people know that they like to sing, especially praise God. They say that their voices are not nice. They would sing with small voice.

3. Oath.
When the same sentence is repeated 3 times, it is very serious. It is like taking an oath. It is more than a mere boldness. It is a commitment, agreement. It is a deep promise to make his life a praise to God. Let’s praise God. ASH.
