Judges 15:18
Because he was very thirsty, he cried out to the Lord, “You have given your servant this great victory. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, May 23, PRAYER (Judg. 15:18). Every man needs God. No man can live without God. We can see it true in the life of Samson. Samson was a very strong man. He could catch 300 foxes alone. He could defeat 300 men and then 1.000 soldiers easily alone. Yet, he still needed God. There was a condition in which he was so helpless. He, then prayed to God. What can we learn from this story?
a. Pray daily.
Don’t pray when we are in need only. When Samson in need, he prayed. He didn’t pray, when he wanted to marry.

b. Pray diligently.
We should have a specific time to pray. We should not pray randomly. Yes, praying is good, but having a particular time to pray is better. Unfortunately, Samson didn’t pray in particular time everyday.

c. Pray deliberately.
Prayer should not become a meaningless formal activity. Prayer should influence the life style. The more we pray, the more we live deliberately. The more we are spiritual. We can’t pray, but living in sin. Samson should watch his life. He should not come close to a carcasses, dead animals and corpses. He should be careful with his life. Therefore, we have to watch our life too. ASH.
