1 Chronicles 22:5
David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it.” So David made extensive preparations before his death.

1 Chronicles 22:14
“I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the Lord a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Oct. 4, PREPARATIONS (I Chron. 22:5). David never stopped working hard in his life. Even, before his death, he still worked hard. He used his life well. His skill, strength, spirit, everything. When he was young, he worked as a shepherd. When he was an adult, he worked as a king. Now, when he was old, he worked as a temple preparator and provider. He prepared the iron nails, cedar logs, dressed stones, bronze, silver, gold, everything.
1. Beyond complete.
David prepared from the smallest to the biggest. He prepared from nails to the stones. Everything was prepared in 1 place.

2. Bountiful numbers.
David didn’t prepare 1 or 2. He prepared so many. Large numbers. He prepared more than enough.

3. Best quality.
David prepared everything to the top. He didn’t give second quality. Low quality. He gave the best, the greatest, the highest, the most prominent things that a man could get at that time in the whole world.

4. Better shaped.
David not only prepared it raw, untouched. He cleaned, cut and shaped them all ready to be used by Solomon. What do we do when we are young, adult or old? ASH.
