1 Chronicles 11:7
David then took up residence in the fortress, and so it was called the City of David.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Sept. 23, PRODUCTIVE (I Chron. 11:7). A man has to be productive. Life should not be wasted by doing nothing. David was prohibited to build a temple for God.
1. He initiatively prepared the materials.
He was prohibited to build the temple. But he was not prohibited to prepare the materials for his son, Solomon to build the temple. He prepared and did the best he can do.

2. He initiatively built the city of David.
He built a big and awesome city. He didn’t want to sit and do nothing. He used his time and brain well. He created an awesome city, its surrounding and walls.

3. He initiatively built a great army.
He didn’t stop being creative. He didn’t do small things. He built a strong army. They were called mighty warriors. Yes, David had done so many great things. Shall we do the same? ASH.
