Deuteronomy 18:15
The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.
Deuteronomy 18:18
I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, March 29, PROPHET (Deut. 18:15, 18). We know that there are many prophets whom ever existed and mentioned in The Bible. We know their names. But do we know the stipulations of a prophet? We know some of the stipulations from these verses
a. A Hebrew.
The first condition of a prophet that is he must be a Hebrew. If he is not a Hebrew, he can not be a prophet. There is no prophet whom is not a Hebrew.
b. A believer.
A prophet has to believe in God. He can’t be a prophet, if he doesn’t believe in God.
c. A holy man.
If a prophet doesn’t guard his life holy, he can’t be a prophet. He needs to be holy all the time. He needs to be good example for the people.
d. A speaker of God.
God will speak through him. Thus, whatever he says would be come into reality. He is not predicting. He is prophesying. He can’t be wrong delivering the message of God. Therefore, there is no more prophet today. We just a deliverer, speaker and preacher, but not prophet. ASH.
