Joshua 2:1
Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Apr. 16, PROSTITUTE (Jos. 2:1). How low and dirty a prostitute is? He or she is so unworthy according to our eyes to live in the society. He or she is the shame of the society. Perhaps, if we have the authority, we won’t let them live. But what is so amazing is that God allowed her to live.
a. God gave her the news.
God allowed her to hear the good news of how mighty God was. Of what God had done to the enemies of Israel.
b. God made her believe.
God moved and opened her heart to believe in God. God saved her. God loved her. God let her lived in the city. God blessed her. God preserved her.
c. God used her to be a blessing to her family.
God used her to bring the good news of salvation to her big family. God used her powerfully, so her big family believed in her testimony. If God could love a prostitute like Rahab, he could love us too and uses us to love the other people. ASH.
