2 Samuel 7:14
I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.
2 Samuel 7:15
But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, July 10, PUNISH (II Sam. 7:14-15). God is love. His love is unique. Many times, we don’t understand his love. Especially, if we compare his love with the love of human being.
a. He himself will punish.
He doesn’t ask anybody else to punish. He doesn’t let anybody be the one who have to be responsible for our sins.
b. He will punish.
He doesn’t let us go free whom have sinned. He doesn’t reduce the punishment that we have to undergo.
c. He will love.
He punishes in order that we can understand and deserve his love. How can God loves a sinner whom always be sinning? Of course, he has to repent and stop sinning. So that, he deserves to receive the love of God continuosly. ASH.
