2 Samuel 12:7
Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul.
2 Samuel 12:13
Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, July 16, QUICK (II Sam. 12:7, 13). The heart of a humble man was really shown clearly in this story. David was a king. He was the top leader of Israel. No one was higher than him. But, God was higher and braver. God sent Nathan to rebuke David. David on his throne didn’t lose his humility. Once, he was rebuked, he:
a. Quickly realized
He was quickly realized that he was the man that had done injustice to Uriah. He was so angry toward the man whom took the ewe lamb from his pooe neighbor, although actually he was the man whom had 7 wives, still wanted to take the only and beloved wife of Uriah.
b. Quickly repent.
David didn’t say other thing to defend himself. He directly confessed his sins. He didn’t consider his sins as little or not a big deal or anything else. He didn’t lightened his sins. He knew he had sinned.
c. Quickly forgiven.
Not even move to the next verse, once David confessed his sins, he was forgiven. At the very same verse, all od David sins were forgiven. We can see a beautiful story about the love of God. An unconditional love. Love which ia not depended on human2 actions. Let’s love God and others more and more. ASH.
