Leviticus 25:48
They retain the right of redemption after they have sold themselves. One of their relatives may redeem them:
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Feb. 1, REDEEM (Lev. 25:48). Redemption has been introduced to The Israelites long time ago. Redemption is very powerful. It has the power to redeem anything. It can redeem:
a. Status.
A slave can be redeemed to be a free man. Slaves have no right at all. But they can be freed by redemption.
b. Sonships.
A son or a daughter can be redeemed by working for certain period of time or by money. Remember when Jacob wanted to marry Rachel. He had to work for 7 years to marry her.
c. Debts.
A debt can be redeemed by certain payments. As long as both parties, especially the lenders agree, the redemption can be applied.
d. Sinners.
All trespasses can be redeemed. Not by money, but only by blood. Something or someone has to spill blood. Something or someone has to die to redeem the sinners. It is very expensive. Therefore, we have to shun evil in order not to pay a high cost for redemption. ASH.
