Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Wed, Aug. 19, RICH (Mt. 19:23). There are many things can be done by the rich. The rich can be smart, popular, kind, good and so forth. They can buy unimaginable things and even people. They can command people to do whatever they want. They have much more opportunity and possibility to do and buy things more than those whom are not rich. But 1 thing that the rich can not do for sure, that is to save himself. Honestly speaking, the rich even can’t have an assurance of salvation. His heart can never be at peace. No confidence. No guarantee. No hope. I remember a story of a king who ask his officials to go to the end of the world to find an antidote for an everlasting life, a fountain of youth, the holy grail. Unfortunately, after a long time of searching, they came back in vain. They brought nothing. They failed to find it. Therefore, never depend on the wealth or anything else, but depend on God alone.
