Judges 18:19
They answered him, “Be quiet! Don’t say a word. Come with us, and be our father and priest. Isn’t it better that you serve a tribe and clan in Israel as priest rather than just one man’s household?”

Judges 18:20
The priest was very pleased. He took the ephod, the household gods and the idol and went along with the people.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Wed, May 26, SINS (Judg. 18:19-20). Sin can never be alone. Anyone who sins, must also sin at the other thing too. Sin requires other sin to accomplish. We can see it here in the story. The priest sinned:
a. Leaving Micah without giving information.
He should tell Micah about his plan. He should discuss with Micah about his plan. He should not leave Micah without saying a thing, without giving notice.

b. Stealing the gods and idols.
He didn’t only leave. He also stole the gods and idols of Micah. He knew that the idols were made from silver. He knew that silver was also precious at that time.

c. Coveting higher income and facility.
He was a greedy man. He wanted more money from his service. What he seek was not ministry, but money.

d. Combining idolatery and adultery.
He worshipped God, but also worshipped idols. He didn’t care that the 2 actually couldn’t be combined. He just did what was asked by the people. Let’s stay far away from sins. ASH.
