Numbers 22:12
But God said to Balaam, “Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people, because they are blessed.”
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Feb.25, SPOKE (Num. 22:12). God is a speaking and revealing God. He likes to speak and tell people what is in his heart. He speaks to everybody. He speaks to people, Satan, even to false prophets. He can speak also to animals, wind and etc. Today, let’s focus on the false prophets. God speaks to false prophets and false prophets can speak to God. We can learn that the priviledge to speak to God doesn’t guarantee a person to be a right person. He is still sinful, rebellious and greedy.
a. Balaam was a greedy person.
He loved money and rewards more than loving God. He wanted to do things for money. He even ready to sin for money.
b. Balaam was a weak person.
He didn’t stop talking.and receiving the messenger of Balak. If he knew that Balak wanted him to sin, he should close the door and refuse the coming of his messenger. He keep opening the chance for speaking and be tempted by him. He should be more decisive to them.
c. Balaam was a secret person.
He should tell other people, his family or somebody else, that he wanted to go to Balak to curse The Israelites. He didn’t communicate to his community. He should have a community to support him, so that he would be stronger. Let’s guard ourselves not to sin against God with the support of the community. ASH.
