Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Jan. 15, SPRINKLE (Lev. 8:30). Sprinkling was known so well in the time of The Israelites. They did it regularly, especially in the consecrating process of the priests, incorporating the people into the covenant, cleansing a house, etc. It was the symbol of purification. It was enough since they were on the journey to Canaan. Not too much water in the desert. They didn’t have to dive or immerse the whole body into the liquid things: Blood, oil or water. It was just a symbol.
a. It couldn’t purify.
Blood of animal, fragrant oil and any kind of water can’t purify our sins. Only blood of Jesus can. Those are only symbols. So, don’t fight over symbols.
b. It couldn’t justify.
The blood could’t be the means to justify for the person to commit sins. Many people think, that after the sprinkling, they got the license to sin.
c. It couldn’t nullify.
It couldn’t nullify the judgement and punishment to come for anyone whom commit sins. If he sins, he has to be punished. He couldn’t go free without punishment. Every sin is a debt. It has to be paid. So, let’s honor our holiness by always doing holy things. ASH.
