2 Samuel 15:5
Also, whenever anyone approached him to bow down before him, Absalom would reach out his hand, take hold of him and kiss him.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, July 19, STOLE (II Sam. 15:5). Absalom was a shrewd man. He was the son of David. But he lied to the people and stole the heart of the people. He stole their heart by:
a. Promising good things.
He said that if he became the judge, he would do many good things to the people. only. People thought that the idea was ok, because it was not clashed with David the king. Although, actually, the real purpose was that he wanted to be their king.
b. Meeting the people personally.
He was there for the people. He met the people whom had come to him to say about their problems.
c. Reaching and holding their hands.
Absalom was not only meeting them, but also touching, holding their hands. It showed care and love.
d. Kissing them.
And the best act that Absalom did was kissing the people. Wow, not only giving time, always be there when they came, reaching and holding their hands, Absalom kissed them. No wonder the heart of the people were given to him. So, be good to the people with sincere heart, we would be better than Absalom who was very good to the people but with.cunning heart. ASH.
