1 Kings 13:7
The king said to the man of God, “Come home with me for a meal, and I will give you a gift.”

1 Kings 13:18
The old prophet answered, “I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the word of the Lord: ‘Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.’ ” (But he was lying to him.)

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Aug. 9, STRICT (I Kg. 13:7, 18). The commands and prohibitions of God are strict. They can not be changed by human or anybody. Here we can see that, many people tried to change them. The young prophet was told by God not to come back to the city no matter what.
1. The king.
The king asked him to come back to the city. The young prophet refused.

2. The old prophet.
An old prophet asked him to come back to eat and drink with him. He shouldn’t listen to this old liar peophet. He shouldn’t be more careful in hearing the word of the old prophet. He mentioned angel, not God.

3. The angel.
Even, when the angel tried to change the will of God, he shouldn’t come back. Unfortunately, he listened to the old prophet whom mentioned angel as his back up, so he came back. He ate and drank. God was angry. He sent a lion to kill the young prophet. Now we can be more confident that the will of God can not changed by anybody. ASH.
