2 Samuel 1:10
“So I stood beside him and killed him, because I knew that after he had fallen he could not survive. And I took the crown that was on his head and the band on his arm and have brought them here to my lord.”

2 Samuel 1:13
David said to the young man who brought him the report, “Where are you from?” “I am the son of a foreigner, an Amalekite,” he answered.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, July 4, STUPID (II Sam. 1:10, 13). Stupidity is a serious problem. Stupidity may cause also a serious result. We can see that in the life of this Amalekite young man. He was so stupid, when
a. He came to David.
He as an Amalekite had to know that his people had raided and burned David’s city. Did he not know that his people took David’s wives and his people’s wives and children? Now, how he could come to David?

b. He lied.
He lied to David, that he was the one whom killed Saul and his children. Saul and his children actually was not died like that.

c. He killed an anointed man.
Killing was already a stupid mistake. Moreover, he killed a king, an anointed man, a chosen man. He actually could help Saul, not kill him. Therefore, David killed him for his stupidity and cowardity. We have to always learning to be smarter. ASH.
