2 Chronicles 27:2
He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done, but unlike him he did not enter the temple of the Lord. The people, however, continued their corrupt practices.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Nov. 7, TEMPLE (II Chron 27:2). Jotham was a strange king of Jerusalem. He wanted to live right, but not wholeheartedly.
1. No temple.
He didn’t want to go to the temple and enter into it to worship God. We don’t know whether he worship God in his chamber. But we know that he was an anti temple.
2. No priest.
He didn’t have any connection with the priests, prophets or other people from the temple. He just did what was right, but no temple and sacrifices.
3. No rebuke.
He didn’t care for the life of the people. Whether his people lived right or continued in their sins. It included the life of his family. He didn’t care for the life of his family, his children and his next successor. He just think about himself. Is it good? ASH.
