2 Kings 16:8
And Ahaz took the silver and gold found in the temple of the Lord and in the treasuries of the royal palace and sent it as a gift to the king of Assyria.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Sept. 2, TREASURE (II Kg. 16:8). I feel pitiful to see that many kings of Israel fell in sins. One of the sins was connected to the stealing of the treasure in the temple. King Ahaz did the same thing. Ahaz stole the gold and silver.
a. Without conferring first to God.
He was the king of Judah. But he was not the king of the world. He was the highest authority person in Judah. But above him, there was a higher and more authoritative person, God.

b. Without any permission from the priest or authorized person.
He didn’t bring this issue or uttering his plan to give the treasure of the temple to the king of Assyrian, Tiglath Pileser.

c. Without leaving anything behind.
He stole all the treasure in the temple. He didn’t leave a bit behind. Luckily, he didn’t scrape the gold in the ark and other temple utensils. We should not steal anything, especially from the temple. We should give, not take or even steal from the temple. ASH.
